Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and culturally attuned College Counselor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a bilingual professional with a strong academic background from an Ivy League or top U.S. university, combined with a minimum of two years of direct experience in college counseling or admissions consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide one-on-one and group college admissions counseling to high school students and families.
· Guide students in academic planning, extracurricular strategy, personal growth, and college list development.
· Oversee the application process, including brainstorming, editing, and reviewing application essays and resumes.
· Stay up to date on U.S. college admissions trends, policies, and procedures.
· Communicate effectively with students and families in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
· Collaborate with other IvyMind counselors and leadership team to ensure quality and consistency of services.
· Maintain detailed counseling records and progress reports.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher from an Ivy League or top 20 U.S. university.
· Native or fluent proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing).
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in college counseling, admissions, or related educational consulting roles.
· Strong understanding of the U.S. college admissions landscape.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
· Passion for education and a genuine desire to mentor students.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working with international or Chinese-speaking families.
· Familiarity with college counseling tools (e.g., Naviance, Cialfo, MaiaLearning, etc.).
