Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching multiple laboratory sections per year in Chemistry, participating in curriculum development, and mentoring undergraduate students. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate laboratory teaching, impactful service to the College community, and a passion for promoting student success. We are looking for a team player who is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity, and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach multiple laboratory sections per year in Chemistry, in accordance with course descriptions, learning outcomes, and institutional policies
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and selection of instructional materials
- Mentor undergraduate students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic goals
- Evaluate and assess student learning, providing constructive feedback and support
- Collaborate with faculty members, lab managers, and teaching assistants to ensure efficient lab operations and maintenance
- Participate in departmental, school, and college committees, contributing to the development of academic programs and policies
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- At least one year of experience teaching laboratory courses in Chemistry or a related field
- Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate laboratory teaching and mentoring
- Experience with innovative approaches to promoting student success, such as project-based learning and inclusive pedagogical practices
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range: $52,000 - $55,000 per year
