They are seeking a growth-focused, dedicated Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to collaborate on gas pipeline and utility infrastructure projects while supporting various client efforts. Responsibilities
- Prepare site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, and drainage systems for a variety of utility, land development, public works, and transportation projects
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions
- Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met in collaboration with project managers
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and local agencies to ensure project requirements are met
- Review and interpret survey reports, maps, and as-built drawings
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and cost estimates
- Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements
Skills
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- EIT Certification or ability to sit for the exam within 12 months of hire
- Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present data using spreadsheets, formulas, and basic functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
- Experience on natural gas projects, including pipeline systems, and distribution networks
- Experience on utility projects, including utility layout and design and preparation of plans and specifications for construction
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes
- Receptive to training and feedback, with a strong willingness to continuously improve
- Self-starter who takes initiative, shows ownership of responsibilities, and proactively seeks solutions
