Position Summary: We are seeking a Property & Casualty Business Analyst to support and enhance our Policy Administration systems. This role will partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to analyze workflows, define requirements, support system enhancements, and resolve production issues that impact critical insurance operations. This position may be filled at the BA I, BA II, or BA III level, depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated ability to work independently, lead initiatives, and influence outcomes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, regulated environment with evolving priorities.   Key Responsibilities:   Business & Systems Analysis - Partner with Policy or Claims business stakeholders to understand, document, and analyze current processes, systems, and workflows. - Elicit, document, and refine business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. - Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements for system enhancements and automation. - Perform impact analysis to assess downstream effects on systems, operations, and compliance. Process Optimization & Automation - Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience within our systems. - Recommend and document process improvements aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. - Collaborate with IT, QA, and stakeholders to design and implement sustainable solutions. Project Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement - Participate in or lead requirements workshops, discovery sessions, and backlog refinement meetings. - Manage changing priorities and scope while ensuring requirements remain clear, documented, and approved. - Support or lead user acceptance testing (UAT), validate solutions, and assist with rollout and adoption. - Provide clear, timely communication and status updates to stakeholders. Documentation & Quality Assurance - Create and maintain documentation including workflows, business rules, system behaviors, and configuration details. - Develop and execute test plans, track defects and coordinate fixes. - Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and compliance expectations. Production Support & Issue Resolution - Troubleshoot system issues, identify root cause, and coordinate resolution with IT and development teams. - Support production incidents and escalated help desk tickets related to our systems. - Communicate issue status, risks, and resolution progress effectively to business partners.   Level Expectations & Differentiation   BA I – Business Analyst I - Independent contributor - Strong knowledge of Policy systems and insurance workflows. - Supports requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and analysis activities. - Assists with defect analysis, UAT support, and documentation updates. - Escalates questions, risks, and issues appropriately. - Focuses on learning our tools, systems, and best practices. BA II – Business Analyst II - Independently owns requirements for smaller initiatives or system components. - Leads requirements discussions and troubleshooting efforts with minimal supervision. - Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned system areas. - Manages priorities and deliverables across multiple efforts. - Provides informal guidance and support to junior analysts. BA III – Senior Business Analyst - Leads complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end. - Drives clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and influences solution direction. - Anticipates risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts. - Serves as an escalation point for complex system issues. - Coaches and mentors BA I and BA II analysts and sets standards for quality. - Communicates confidently with senior leadership and executives.
