About the role
Ownership of the Accounts Receivable function including:
Managing the timely and accurate import of sales invoices into the finance system
Reconciling receipts from customers into the correct accounts
Credit control and query management
Driving collaboration with the Customer Experience team to resolve queries and ensure timely payment
Weekly/monthly reporting on the aged debt function
Quarterly write off investigation
Championing improvements in the accounts receivable process
Ownership of the Accounts Payable process, from processing invoices to supplier payment runs and communication.
Daily bank reconciliations
Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations including bank, accruals, prepayments and other key accounts
Support the Financial Controller with other month end and annual statutory audit requirements
Work closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Finance to improve processes and controls
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
Provide cover for the Financial Controller
Ad-hoc requests and project work as required

Requirements
• Part qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or looking to start studying and keen to progress
• Solid understanding of core accounting functions, particularly AP, AR, accruals, and prepayments
• Strong knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets: up to and including vlookups
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn within a high-performing finance team
• Excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to plan and deliver activities according to an agreed schedule
• Team player: happy to work collaboratively and support where needed
• Ability to effectively communicate with other Elders, both finance and non-finance and with our customers / suppliers
• A keen interest in understanding the interaction of our systems and processes to ensure internal efficiency and scalability
