Position Title: Administrative Director, Capital Equipment Department: Supply Chain Job Description: General Description: The position of Administrative Director, Capital Equipment is responsible for leading a team that is accountable for managing the capital equipment intake, execution, and negotiation processes for OU Health. This position will also be responsible for working with senior leadership on developing a committee to manage capital equipment decisions and strategies for the health system. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. • Partner with senior OU Health leadership to develop a process for capital equipment planning intake, management, decision making, and communication. • Facilitate Capital Equipment Core Group and work closely with the Core Group chair to align on the strategy and content. • Develop and manage a process for emergency capital equipment to flow through the Capital Equipment Core Group. • Implement equipment standardization strategies to increase value and allow for strategic equipment bulk purchases throughout each fiscal year. • Work closely with Category Managers and Contract Specialist in supply chain to align capital equipment decisions to supply agreements as needed. • Enhance the current OU Health capital equipment policy to better align with system level decision making and speed to value. • Lead strategic negotiations with suppliers to drive value and cost savings for OU Health. • Collaborate with Finance to develop a process to optimize capital equipment cash flow in order to maximize value and improve financial stewardship. • Collaborate with the Capital Buyer to support the execution plan developed by the Capital Equipment Core Group and other capital equipment needs. • Evaluate capital equipment procurement options to provide a recommendation to the Capital Equipment Core Group as needed. • Collaborate with finance and stakeholders to develop financial evaluation models for capital equipment acquisitions. • Lead standardization and contract consolidation initiatives for OU Health. • Create strategic alliances with suppliers to leverage volume and optimize total cost. • Monitors markets to understand changes and equipment introductions to ensure contract portfolio remains relevant to market conditions. • Interviews, hires, conduct performance evaluations, trains and attends to personnel issues with staff under his/her area of responsibility. • Demonstrate the ability within a team assignment to take a lead role in interpreting and applying resolution techniques; management of diversity in the workplace; effective communication and active listening skills, consensus-building and problem resolution practices in order to achieve team goals. • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure that supply chain activities are cost effective, create value, and meet customer expectations. • Utilize tools and industry knowledge to run capital equipment benchmarking analysis to validate competitive proposals. • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain an active capital equipment inventory for the entire health system. • Provide leadership to develop and mature the capital equipment planning process. • Lead, direct and motivate diverse workers within a team-based assignment; effectively manage change in the workplace. • Represent organization at national level by attending and speaking at appropriate conferences and networking with other leaders in the field • Make recommendations to leadership and develop a long-term strategy regarding capital equipment service agreements across OU Healt General Responsibilities: • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Technical or Business-related Bachelor's degree field preferred. Master's degree preferred. Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience required, including at least 2 or more years in supply chain management or supply chain project management role required. Prefer 4 or more years of experience in Supply Chain. Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: None required. Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) through American Hospital Association preferred. Lean/Six Sigma or similar process improvement program is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of capital equipment depreciation and amortization. • Experience working with suppliers on consumable commitment, lease, and rental contracts for capital equipment. • Experience using metrics to drive decisions and working with external vendors. • Demonstrated working knowledge of Supply Chain functional area. • Demonstrated business understanding and ability to balance people/ organizational decisions with business considerations • Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical skills • Demonstrated planning and project management skills • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, effective working relationships with a variety internal and external stakeholders • Guides individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering leading quality services • Ability to maintain integrity and trust among leadership and staff. • Proven ability to manage a team of professionals and lead a departmental function. • Must be a strategic thinker, self-motivated and have excellent problem solving and project management skills. • Proven ability to solve complex problems effectively and manage multiple high priority deliverables. • Organization-proactively prioritize needs and effectively manages resources. • Ability to foster vendor relationships that will drive toward a successful partnership • Proven skills in communicating with all levels of organizational leadership • Strong leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to lead successful teams of individuals, motivate project participants, and communicate effectively at all levels across the system. • Able to rapidly summarize information and present to others. • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools and Supply Chain analytics.
