Marsh McLennan is a leading global professional services firm, and they are seeking an Account Manager I for their Commercial Insurance division. The role involves supporting Account Managers in placing, maintaining, and servicing accounts while developing skills for future advancement.
Responsibilities
- Generate schedules and new and renewal proposals as outlined in the Proposal Guidelines
- Develop renewal questionnaires based on most current information. Update spreadsheets and Excel schedules as needed
- Enter/update information in agency and document management system, including by not limited to policy coverages, exclusions, special endorsements, and restrictions/limitations as required by the agency’s standards
- Process simple endorsements and refer complicated endorsement requests to the Account Manager
- Process cancellations
- Process audits and generate/send out letters to clients for large audit changes and/or for large clients
- Initiate invoicing activities for all transactions, including pre-billing of automatic renewals
- Assist Account Managers with allocations
- Pull loss runs and complete premium loss summaries as needed
- Enter and generate for modmaster analysis
- Set up master certificates and provide instructions for issuance of certificates and auto ID cards. Maintain working knowledge of certificate issuance and auto ID card issuance process
- Perform review of policies and endorsements. Transmit policies and endorsements to clients
- Assist in handling renewals and servicing for commercial accounts
- Submit required reports and complete all processing in a timely manner
- Maintain files, records, and personal work space in an orderly, current manner
- Routinely review exception reports and aging reports and take necessary action to properly address items
- Maintain follow-up/suspense files on outstanding tasks and follow-up on overdue items
- Prepare summaries of insurance and schedules as needed and in accordance with agency procedures
- Maintain and exhibit a positive, professional attitude in the performance of the job. Treat clients, prospects, and agency employees with courtesy and respect. Be a team player

Skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree highly desired
- Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training
- Producer Licensing required upon hire or must obtain within 6 months
- Must have ability to learn and apply new concepts in areas such as underwriting multi-line risks, financial analysis, insurance industry, and principals of law and regulation
- Good negotiation, presentation, and sales skills
- Good communication skills at all internal and external levels
- Possess a positive attitude, rationality, and tactfulness
- Proficient with PC navigation and Microsoft Office based software applications
- Demonstrate knowledge of and skill in customer service
- Demonstrate knowledge of and skill in time management, organization, and prioritization
- Demonstrate knowledge of and skill in problem solving and decision making
- Demonstrate knowledge of and skill in detail and results oriented
- CPCU, CIC or other Property/Casualty designations preferred
