Key Responsibilities Program Leadership: Work closely with the District Coordinator for English Learners, school administrators, and state agencies to inform and facilitate Emergent Bilingual Education programming, ensuring compliance with State and Federal mandates. Curriculum and Instruction: Advise on the ordering and distribution of curricular materials for EL programs, advocate for equitable and high-quality instruction, and share current research and best practices in teaching ELs with the teaching staff. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with teachers and staff on curriculum and instruction for ELs, participate in IEP meetings as a bilingual specialist, and provide meaningful input on linguistic and cultural considerations. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assist with the selection of interventions for ELs, collaborate on District-Wide Assessments, and maintain accurate EL student records. Communication and Community Engagement: Serve as a liaison between school administrators, EL teachers, and outside agencies, and participate in Bilingual Parent Advisory Council Meetings to promote student, family, and community engagement. Professional Development: Provide trainings for paraprofessionals and staff, and stay updated on best practices and research in EL education to share with the school community. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must: Hold a Bilingual and/or ESL PEL endorsement. Demonstrate knowledge of state content standards, including CCSS, NGSS, and WIDA ELDS. Have experience working with EL students and a passion for ensuring their academic success. Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Be a proactive problem solver and supporter of continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a leadership role within an EL program. Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and Tier 2 and 3 interventions. Familiarity with PowerSchool and other student information systems. Experience with District-Wide Assessments, such as ACCESS Language Assessment and WIDA Language Screener.
