3D Artist Needed for Model Optimization & Photorealistic Texture Baking (3ds Max) - Contract to Hire

We are looking for a skilled 3D artist with strong experience in model optimization, photorealistic texturing, and baking for online real-time use (GLB/GLTF). Our current 3D model (3ds Max) is a plot with multiple buildings, fully textured using standard materials. The existing model is around 200K+ polygons and needs to be optimized and enhanced visually for online viewing—preferably tested in 3DVista or similar real-time platforms. You will receive: - The full 3ds Max source file - Reference images for the expected texture quality and visual style Scope of Work 1. Model Optimization - Reduce polygon count to under 100K while maintaining visual fidelity - Ensure clean, optimized topology suitable for real-time online use 2. High-Quality Texture Generation - Create improved and detailed textures for: • Ground • Road asphalt • Road markings/tracing • General surface materials - Bake all textures correctly for a final GLB export 3. Photorealistic Building Appearance - Enhance the buildings with realistic materials and refined details - Improve lighting/shadows baked into textures if needed 4. Add Scene Details for Realism - Add small elements that make the environment believable (e.g., sidewalks, curbs, slight surface variations, vegetation if needed) - Ensure a visually polished final scene 5. Final Deliverables - Fully optimized 3ds Max source file including all new textures - Final GLB file ready for online use - Texture maps (diffuse, normal, roughness, etc.) neatly organized Additional Skills: - Experience with 3DVista to test performance and appearance online - Knowledge of WebGL/GLTF workflows Project Requirements - Strong experience with 3ds Max - Knowledge of PBR textures, baking, and LOD optimization - Ability to balance optimization with high visual quality - Attention to realism and detail What We Provide - Original 3ds Max model - Screenshot preview (attached) - Reference images for desired material and texture quality Please answer the following to be considered: 1.
